Job Title: Apprentice Procurement Analyst Start Date: The role starts February 2023. Level 4 CIPS course starts August 2023 Apprentice Level & Course: CIPS Level 4 completed over 22 months from August 2023. Duration: Permanent role. Location: Harlow (Hybrid working including study time). Travel: Occasional travel to Harlow and London for work and college course as per business requirements. There may also be occasional travel to our other UK offices e.g. Glenrothes as per business requirement. Summary of role: Raytheon UK is looking for an individual with the desire to learn and enthusiasm to join our Supply Chain team as an Apprentice Procurement Analyst. This is a challenging role which will be highly rewarding and will launch a Supply Chain career. The successful candidate will be assigned a permanent role and will work hybrid/remote at our Harlow facility. However, visits to other Raytheon UK sites may be required. As an apprentice you will be fully supported to obtain a Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply level 4 qualification over 22 months. This course requires 6hrs per week to study for the duration of the CIPS programme. Through a combination of work based projects and virtual study the successful candidate will obtain the CIPS level 4. The course will require independent study including online learning, reading and assessments. The Apprentice Role: During the apprenticeship the successful candidate will: Develop knowledge, understanding and skills related to the principles and practices of supply chain Develop communication, interpersonal skills and time management Use understanding and analysis to solve problems Gain an understanding of procurement requirements relevant to the role The apprentice will report into the Indirect Procurement Manager with daily supervision provided across the members of our Indirect Supply Chain team and will be involved in a wide range of matters supporting the wider business including: Sources, negotiates, awards and documents purchase of materials, services, and supplies Performs or supports cost and price analysis, develops negotiation strategies, and conducts negotiations in order to create value for money outcomes for procuring goods and services Support Supply Chain bid/proposal activities for pursuits. Utilizes source selection techniques (best value, Total Cost of Ownership etc.), performs cost analyses, conducts negotiations, and identifies supplier risks and opportunities. Ensures that requirements (prime contract, quality, terms and conditions) are properly communicated to suppliers. Manages supplier performance to cost, schedule and quality requirements. Interfaces with internal and supplier cross-functional organizations. Executes to customer requirements including government regulations, public law and Raytheon policies and procedures. Continually assesses and promotes sustainable and responsible procurement, including social, cultural and diversity values in the organisation and throughout the supply chain Participates in supplier assessments and supplier development activity teams, including the administration of appropriate due diligence activity Throughout the apprenticeship the successful candidate will have responsibility for their own work which will align to the requirements of the course. In addition, the apprentice will support the wider members of the team on more complex requirements. The apprentice will be part of a network of apprentices and graduates across the business with access to training, networking opportunities and business exposure. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Supply Chain team as a qualified procurement professional. There will then be potential opportunities for rotation within different Supply Chain roles. Candidate Requirements: Essential Minimum GCSEs Grades A -C/ 9-4 (or Level 2 certificates) or equivalent in Maths and English. Applicants should be able to successfully achieve UK MoD SC security clearance.
