Overview

The building services engineering site management (degree) was approved for delivery on 08/05/2018. This Higher apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 6, non-integrated degree qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 48 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

The Building services engineering site management degree apprenticeship will provide you with the skills and knowledge to lead a range of construction projects that undertake installation work of complex environmental systems.

These systems can include electrical power, air conditioning, heating and lighting, as you oversee their commissioning, fitting and testing in a range of new and existing commercial and industrial settings, such as schools, hospitals and factories. You will understand the client’s requirements and submit proposals with suggested options for work to be completed to ensure their systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

You will be responsible for the timely completion of projects, and the allocation of resources and manpower to specific tasks that form part of the installation process. You will identify and select the appropriate techniques and methods to use to ensure a safe working environment and use your knowledge of design principles to highlight any potential hazards or issues.

This management apprenticeship will allow you to achieve an Incorporated Engineer status with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, and gain Industry certificates in Site Safety Plus Site Managers’ Safety Training Scheme and Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme.
