Overview

Approved for delivery on the 12/09/2017, the building services engineering ventilation hygiene technician, Advanced apprenticeship standard provides a level 3, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 24 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

Working as a Ventilation Hygiene Technician, this apprenticeship will teach you how to clean and decontaminate ventilation systems in a range of commercial and industrial buildings, ensuring they comply with industry standards.

You will help ensure the safety and wellbeing of those within the building by cleaning and maintaining systems as required by statutory regulations, conduct post clean testing and create complex profiles of its ductwork setup to identify any corrective work needed. You will be able to understand requirements based off both technical engineering drawings and through liaising directly with clients and other tradespeople. You will learn how to select and operate the appropriate tools and machinery for specific cleaning tasks whilst minimising their environmental impact.

You will carry out work on new and existing structures, working independently and as part of a wider team of construction professionals, ensuring both their safety and your own, using your knowledge of safe working practices and completing risk assessments. You will also need to accept responsibility for your work, ensuring you professionally represent your employer at all times.
