You will manage all activity on-site, including the quality standards and the health and safety of all staff, whilst working towards specifications of the designer. You will oversee the construction budget and allocate its resources to promote efficiency and sustainability and maintain continuous communication with project managers and stakeholders to keep them up to date with the progress being made.

You will develop a full understanding of the principles of construction engineering, including buildings, utilities and infrastructure, and know how to keep accurate records and use them to implement quality improvement programmes and evaluate its effectiveness. You will always promote equality and diversity in the workplace, and be aware of the importance of exercising judgement, whilst taking responsibility for your work.

You will gain industry certificates in Site Safety Plus Site Managers’ Safety Training Scheme and Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme and work towards achieving Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (IfCE).
