Overview

The construction quantity surveyor (degree) was approved for delivery on 11/07/2019. This Higher apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 6, non-integrated degree qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 36 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

Fully qualified Construction Quantity Surveyor are employed in a range of construction projects to help minimise costs and potential risks, and ensure it complies with the required legal and industry standards.

In this role, you will manage the entire budget and finances related to the construction project. You will demonstrate an understanding of the construction process, the nature of risks and the consequences of not acting quickly and efficiently. You will use your knowledge of risk management and conflict resolution to put policies and procedures in place that with safeguard the timely completion of the project and mitigate hazards.

You will monitor, evaluate and report on progress and communicate your findings to the relevant stakeholders using your strong verbal, written and digital communication skills, and influence decisions made to improve the quality and performance of the project’s operational workers.

Completing this apprenticeship will include the knowledge, skills and behaviours typically required to achieve full member or chartered status with the industry’s recognised professional bodies, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
