You will gain experience in both the product and commercial sides of a fashion brand, and will likely be focused on the studio side of the business.

The role of a Fashion studio assistant is busy, exciting and challenging. You will get involved in a variety of tasks, and its likely that no two days will be the same. After spending time in the studio learning about how a collection is created, you will move to a more focused area of the business. There are three different pathways available:

  • Product development: Working with a studio team in the design and manufacture of a product. This includes working with materials, patterns, garment construction and quality control.
  • Sales and Operations: Focusing on the sales strategy of the brand and developing market awareness. This will include managing the relationships between the customer and brand, conducting market research and developing an awareness of the different sales channels open to designers.
