Overview

Approved for delivery on the 19/09/2016, the it technical salesperson, Advanced apprenticeship standard provides a level 3, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 12 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

An IT technical salesperson sells technical and technological products and services for the company they work for. A critical skill which this course will teach is an excellent working knowledge of all technical products available at any time, with an awareness of new products. Apprentices must understand the portfolio of technologies available and how they work. You will learn to handle data and technology securely in line with operational guidelines and legislation.

The apprenticeship focuses on communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with potential clients, in the UK and internationally. IT technical salespeople aim to develop a portfolio of returning customers who will purchase new technologies when they become available. The relationship which apprentices build with clients is essential in the continued growth of the company. Another element to the course will be approaching potential customers to win new clients. You will sell them emerging technology and describe how it could uniquely aid their business.

Apprentices will have a working knowledge of IT and computer systems and technologies such as cloud services, secure coding and methods for unified communication.
