Apprentices will work on construction sites all over the world; you may be repairing exiting buildings or erecting new ones. The tasks within the role are wide-ranging, and there is scope for a variety of routes. However, they may include erecting masonry structures, laying non-specialist concrete, installation of necessary fixtures and fittings, as well as the repair and maintenance of any damage.

Apprentices will need to have advanced combat training before the commencement of the apprenticeship. These skills include physical strength and stamina, correctly and safely responding to tactical situations, working as part of a team, remaining calm and undertaking patrol duties. Apprentices must be able to take responsibility regarding their actions and decisions, and must feel confident keeping themselves and others safe on construction sites.

You will learn to work and complete construction in a range of hostile and challenging environments, at times with little support and infrastructure. So, it’s essential that you are resilient and motivated.
