What you will do

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice CNC Machinist. In this role you will learn how to operate various CNC lathes throughout the workshop. Read technical drawings, develop and optimise programmes for first run with minimal waste.

We are offering a full-time permanent opportunity where you will enrol you onto a 4-year Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship program. We will provide you with a mentor and tutor to support your learning and development.

How you will do it

  • Optimise programmes to ensure low cycle times and tool wear is minimised.
  • Ensure that quality of production is being maintained.
  • Timely and effective completion of duties.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, safety, material handling duties, and meet quality and quantity standards
  • Use of hand-held pneumatic tools
  • Work to the desired Takt Time or run rate
  • Operation of assembly fixtures
  • Problem solving of work place issues
  • Quality inspections of work in progress
  • Work as part of a team to ensure on-time quality product to our customers (internal and external)
  • Incorporate safe working procedures into all daily activities in and around facility
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training
  • Apply, execute and maintain function related quality issues and report on defects or potential escapes.
  • If you hold / working towards a similar / same qualification of the same level or higher then you will not be eligible for this apprenticeship vacancy.

    What we look for

    Essential

  • 5 GCSEs grade 5-9 including Maths and English (A-C in old GCSE grading system)
  • Enthusiasm to learn and an interest in problem solving
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Must hold the Right to work in the UK
  • Preferred

  • Full UK Drivers licence
