Everyone Active is a leading UK Leisure Provider and are recruiting Apprentices for the Operations Assistant roles, to start a career in the Leisure Industry. As an Apprentice Operations Assistant will be responsible for a range of operational duties such as assisting with the opening and closing of the facility, undertaking routine maintenance of equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the environment.
A large part of this role will be assisting swimming teachers in the delivery of swimming lessons and working towards personal delivery of swim teaching. Alongside their operational duties there are five key areas of work all leisure team members will cover: leisure and fitness operations, lifeguard duties, swimming teaching duties, gym instruction and leading group activities.

The job will include working a range of days and times across numerous departments.
Main job role will be to lifeguard the swimming pool.
The Leisure Team Member level 2 Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to begin your career in the Leisure Industry. As part of your apprenticeship, you will gain your National Pool lifeguard Qualification along with other nationally recognized qualifications in Leisure.
As part of the 18-month programme you will gain the following qualifications.
– National Pool Lifeguard
– First Aid at Work
– Level 2 Gym Instructing
– Level 1 Assistant Swim Teaching
– Level 2 Swim Teaching

If you are invited to interview for this role you will be required to complete a swim test as part of the interview process, to be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate you are able to do the following:
– Jump/dive into deep water
– Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
– Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water and then tread water for 30 seconds
– Surface dive to floor of pool (deepest part)
– Climb out unaided without ladders/steps
At Everyone Active, Moorways Sports Village, you will be studying towards your Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship Level 2 Standard over the course of 15 months.
Desired personal Qualities
Hardworking, pays attention to detail and able to complete at least 30 hours over the week in various parts of the leisure facility.
Future Prospects
Apprentice operation assistants end up with the relevant qualifications that would allow them gain permanent employment in a lifeguard, fitness instructor or swimming teacher role. Quite often they can develop into team leader and duty manager roles.
