Here at Randstad, we are recruiting for an Apprentice Estimator to work with a leading national housebuilder in Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
As an Estimating Trainee, you will assist the Estimating and wider Commercial team by carrying out related activities including the production of accurate cost information whilst receiving an introduction and training to Estimating practice.
Duties will include:
Assist the Estimator in the production of accurate cost information, helping to evaluate the risks and cost of construction abnormals in formulating the budget
Understand and support with updating construction budgets on a regular basis and preparing a schedule of standard house type prices for land feasibility purposes
Liaise with Architects/Design Engineers on matters of preliminary Design and Engineering solutions
Assist with the maintaining and updating of the Estimating Cost Library, through discussions with Buyers and Quantity Surveyors
Analyse and record trade tender return information, assisting the Estimator in the assessment of new or alternative products
Requirements:
4 GCSEs A-C/4-9. Two of these should be Maths and English.
A minimum of a Level 3/BTEC Diploma/2 A Levels.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
