About the role

You will join a team within our Adult Social Work service and receive a thorough induction, training and support to eventually enable you to hold your own small caseload. Working under the supervision of a dedicated Practice Educator, you will be trained to complete all social work tasks, including client visits, assessments, reviews and support plans and work with a variety of clients, colleagues and external agencies. This is a truly varied job and no day will be the same.

At the end of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent job here at London Borough of Hillingdon.

Over the course of three years, you will complete an Honours Degree in Social Work at Bucks University. Alongside attending university one day a week and working four days a week, you will be expected to commit time to studying and completing assessments.

Completion of the apprenticeship will allow you to register with Social Work England and begin your career as a Newly Qualified Social Worker.

About you

Candidates will need a GCSE grade A-C in both Maths and English or equivalent, and willingness to work towards and achieve a Social Work degree. An equivalent or higher qualification in the same profession (social work) cannot be held.
