We are BSS, a nationwide distributor of heating, ventilation, pipeline, and mechanical services, we are also part of the well known Travis Perkins Group and this opportunity is based in Exeter .
Our working hours also offer a great work life balance – most of our customers choose to enjoy their weekends and bank holidays which means you can too! The working hours will be Monday- Friday 7.30am – 5.00pm

How important is this role to the business
As the Tool Hire Assistant Apprentice in BSS, you will play a vital role in supporting our Tool Hire Manager to meet and be compliant to all mechanical, electrical processes and procedures in regards to repairing and testing tools and equipment to the BSS Tool Hire standard.
What will I be doing?
In this multi-skilled role you will be tasked with ensuring all tools and hire equipment are tested and safe for use and readily available for hire.
You will support your Tool Hire Manager in managing all aspects of their department and business.
Delivering and collecting a wide variety of tools & equipment to our customers.
With your learned knowledge of the products and services we offer, you will be a pivotal contact for our customers, nurturing great relationships, understanding their needs in order to offer expert advice and recommending alternatives to profitably maximise the sale of goods.
Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, so you will need to adhere and be compliant to all Tool Hire processes and procedures including all Tool Hire audits and inspections.

Youll join our Travis Perkins Certificate in Tool Hire, for the first 12 months youll build up technical knowledge on our tools and equipment ranges and a strong understanding of our business so that you can confidently and safely serve our customers and develop lasting and profitable relationships with them.
Through 1:1 coaching, mentoring, digital study and technical and skills training, youve got a fantastic support network that will support you, not only through the apprenticeship programme, but your day to day development to enable you to progress to a management position.
Our Apprenticeships are focused on your development and factor study time into your working week, so you can achieve your qualification without affecting your work-life balance.
What are we looking for?
You dont need any previous experience to be considered for our Tool Hire Apprenticeship, but for the best chance of securing yourself a place youll need to be someone who:
Knows what great customer service looks like and how to provide it
Is able to build relationships with people at all levels and enjoys working within a sales environment
Loves to learn, develop and expand their knowledge and self develop themselves
Is willing to travel, and be flexible in terms of location
Holds a full UK driving licence (or be taking your test soon)
