An opportunity has arisen to grow our own staff via Apprenticeship programmes within the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. 

The successful candidate will be required to provide administrative service to support the smooth and efficient running; working in a supervised and supportive environment. You will need to be able to communicate effectively and courteously with a range of internal/external roles. You will work as part of a team alongside other administrative colleagues contributing to the efficient and effective running of all processes and office systems.

Main duties of the job

This post is intended to provide general administrative assistance to the Department. The role consists of a number of core activities; answering telephones, copy typing letters, reports, filing, ordering of supplies, making appointments and photocopying. There will also be opportunities for developing administrative/IT skills.

To work as part of an administrative team, sharing the responsibility for the office workload. To provide a comprehensive clerical and secretarial service to the therapy staff and to act in a professional manner, promoting the organisation and department. You will also have further opportunities to develop your office administration skills.

    Essential criteria

  • Mathematics and English GCSE or equivalent grade C or equivalent
  • Experience

  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • Experience of Microsoft, word, excel and outlook.
  • Experience of filing systems.
  • Experience of diary management.
  • Clerical/administrative experience.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Relevant experience working within the NHS.
  • Experience of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR)
  • Knowledge of Community RIO system.
