We currently have some new and exciting job opportunities for Engagement & Support Apprentices to join our collaborative, supportive and customer-focused programme.

These roles are fixed-term until March 2024 and will support the Digital Inclusion & Capabilities workstream (Digital Kent) within Financial Hardship Programme, with opportunity to support other teams across the programme and potentially the organisation.

These are newly created, flexible and impactful roles. The successful candidates will engage, inspire and motivate residents (and businesses) to be more socially and digitally included and provide project support to the wider team.

The successful candidates will be someone looking to develop their skills, with the right attitude, highly motivated and keen to learn. The successful candidates will choose one of the apprenticeship standards below to work towards:

  • We are looking to recruit up to 3.0FTE (full-time equivalents) who will be responsible for contributing to programme objectives for their geographical area across the county. The proposed geographical areas (subject to change), based on the borough/district boundaries, are:

  • North & East Kent (Canterbury, Swale, Dartford and Gravesham)
  • South East Kent (Ashford, Dover, Folkestone & Hythe and Thanet)
  • West & Mid Kent (Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling and Tunbridge Wells)
  • In addition to the three geographical positions, we are also looking to fill 2.0FTE (full time equivalent) roles that have a county-wide focus, aligned with our established projects and schemes.

    As a programme, our team are working flexibly. The expectation that successful candidates will work from home with travel around their agreed geographical area, with occasional visits to our offices.

    The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

    The role is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

    You must have been ordinarily resident in the UK, the British Oversea Territories, or the Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship. In addition, you must be able to commit to the full length of the programme and be able to meet the programme modules through your job role.

    Interviews are scheduled to take place on 20th or 21st December 2022, with potential of other interview dates for January 2023.
