Applications are invited for the post of Apprentice Radiographer. We are looking for forward thinking andenthusiastic Apprentice Radiographer who want to join ourexisting team of dedicated Radiographers and Assistant PractitionerRadiographers.

Successful candidates will be expected to complete; work-based, online,self-directed learning as outlined in the university prospectus. This is initially a fixed term contract for the duration of theapprenticeship with milestones set. All course fees will be paid for by the Trust. The apprentice willachieve a Degree in BSc (hons) Diagnostic Radiography Apprenticeship Degree.

Applicantsmust be eligible and willing to undertake a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship andhold Certificates orDiplomas of Higher Education (Cert HE; Dip HE), Foundation Degrees (FD) orequivalent and Level 3 qualifications or equivalent to meet HEI entryrequirements.

Thereis an eligibility criteria for government funded apprenticeships which requiresthe applicant to be aged 16+, be a resident in the UK/EU for the last threeyears. Applicants cannot have achieved a qualification at level 6 orabove in the samepathway as this will exempt them from being able toundertake the apprenticeship.

Candidates applying must have the requiredqualifications as documented in the personal specification. Furthermore, anexpectation from the prospect degree apprentice of enthusiasm, commitment andpro-activeness is essential.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of theradiography team responsible for producing high quality images within theradiology service.

The post holder will be workingtowards this job description whilst undertaking a training scheme over 36months, under supervision, to achieve a BSc (hons) Diagnostic RadiographyApprenticeship Degree.

Apprentices will be workplace based for four days (30 hours)per week and 1 day (7.5 hours) will be protected study time either locally orat the associated Higher Education Institution (HEI). Attendance of training atthe associated HEI is considered to be essential and annual leave must bearranged outside these sessions.

The post holder will fulfil alltasks and work as part of a team responsible for providing an efficient imagingservice in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. To meet the needs of the service,the post holder may be required to work in other areas and hospitals asappropriate, as directed by the line manager. It may be necessary to attendother Imaging Departments to gain sufficient experience in some modalities.
