An exciting opportunity has arisen in the West Midlands Regional Genetics Laboratory (WMRGL) in Birmingham, to join our busy Admin Team as an Apprentice for 15 months on a fixed term contract. If you are interested in starting a career in administration in the NHS, have good verbal and written skills, the ability to prioritise and work under pressure and are a conscientious team worker, then we would like to hear from you. Apprentices who dont already have Maths and English GCSE Grace C or above (or equivalent) will be required to complete these subjects as part of the apprenticeship programme.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will help to provide administrative support within the Laboratory Genetics Admin Team, whilst learning how a busy Department is managed.

This is a customer facing role and you will undertake Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship whilst working alongside clerical workers, registered professionals and medical staff. Customer Service Practitioner apprentices play a vital role in the smooth running of the Trust.

The candidate should have good attention to detail, and the ability to manage their time to suit the requirements of the Team working four days within the Lab Offices, and with one day release to Sandwell College or with regular one-to-one tutoring.
