We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive candidate to join our highly effective and friendly team.

The role is to support the practice and management team utilise the digital and IT available to us to maximize efficiency.

The successful applicant will work with various software systems. These include tpp systmone, Redcentric telephones, excel, capri healthcare, and others.

An understanding of IT hardware would also be an advantage as would excellent communication skills.

If you would like to take on the role as an apprentice and gain a IT qualification we would be delighted to support you.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will lead the Practice in developing the use of information technology to enable it to , maximize income and to improve patients care.

To ensure the efficient running of the practice computer and telephone system, carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the management.

Identify areas for development and enhancement of the clinical and other systems to ensure both ease of use and optimum data quality.

To become the practice expert in all aspects of the clinical system and be able to train other users, both clinical and non-clinical, in the best use of the system.

  • Daily administration of system backups and electronic links to the pathology laboratory.
  • Checking of backups and verification of backup tapes.

  • Investigate and resolve problems in the day-to-day use of computers, printers, telephones and other IT related equipment. Where appropriate, report IT faults to appropriate suppliers helpdesk and track progress.
