BCHG have an exciting opportunity to welcome an apprentice into our well-established Finance team. You will be an asset to the department, helping colleagues in their day-to-day activities on both the processing and accounting teams.

We are looking for a self-motivated, hard-working individual with a passion for all things Finance. We want to involve a committed individual in a wide range of tasks, giving an insight into how the Finance function works and allows the business to be successful. Hands-on experience will be gained alongside studying the AAT qualification, giving you the best possible chance to succeed and thrive. You will work 35 hours per week, splitting your time between working from home, at Head Office and at College. We offer a competitve rate of pay starting at £6.28 per hour. You will be studying your Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) NVQ Levels 2-4 with a learning provider of your choosing.

Specific tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

To provide financial and administrative support to the Finance Team, ensuring an effective and efficient service to BCHG, its Partners and Customers. To undertake relevant training and studying relevant to the role.

  • Undertake supplier reconciliations from supplier statements to Open Accounts.
  • Check receipts for procurement cards have been saved and match to RBS schedule.
  • Check invoices match to system generated export information and import to the ledger.
  • To assist in maintaining information held on financial systems and registers.
  • To assist in the completion of statutory and benchmarking returns and information.
  • To assist in the production of the year-end financial statements.
  • To run system reports for working papers and to assist the finance team.

Skills and Experience required :

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE s Grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Good ICT skills including Microsoft Office, Office 365
  • Ability to follow procedures and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good time management, with the ability to manage and prioritise varied workload effectively, work to tight deadlines and be flexible where required
  • Enthusiastic about a career in Finance, keen and willing to learn

The post holder will be subject to a six month probation period
