As a Customer Relations Apprentice, you will develop skills, knowledge and experience working within the Councils Commercial Sales team.

You will follow a structured training programme which will enable you to gain experience, a qualification and broad base skills.

The Council provides services to other public sector organisations, such as schools, academies, town and parish Councils etc. Services are provided via formal Service Level Agreements (SLAs), or contracts. The range of services offered by the Council is vast and includes areas such as HR/payroll, ICT, grounds maintenance etc.

In your role you will support the delivery of a customer engagement plan which aims to ensure all Council customers feel valued and have a great customer experience.
You will also work with the team to support the growth of the Councils business by increasing awareness and developing promotional material/campaigns. The team have various tools available to support promotion which include the Commercial Services website, Twitter, e-newsletters etc.

This is an exciting role, within a new area of the Council. In the role you will work as part of a small team who will support and encourage you to thrive and achieve.

Candidates should be confident and highly motivated with a can-do attitude. They should have a passion for excellent customer service and be creative with a keen interest in promotion and promotional tools.

The apprenticeship will be based in County Hall, Durham but you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.

You will be studying towards the Sales Executive Level 4 standard

You must have or expect to achieve 2 A Levels Grades A-C (or equivalent qualifications) and already hold GCSE’s grade A*-C/9-4 in English and Mathematics
