Here at Calibration Testing Solutions, we offer specialist metrology calibration to customers across a diverse range of sectors including aerospace, automotive and rail.

We are looking for someone to join us on a permanent basis here at our Chesterfield site, with the Construction Testing Solutions Group expanding we are keen to support new and existing colleagues with training that can grow themselves and the business.

The position will be hands on, learning from our experienced team, complemented by an apprenticeship course. The apprenticeship course will focus on Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will be involved in the decision making of the course they undertake. It is important to us that they are involved in this decision as it will help shape their career with us.

Things you can expect to be getting involved with:

  • Perform UKAS calibrations on electrical and dimensional instrumentation
  • Perform traceable calibrations on electrical and dimensional instrumentation
  • When competent, perform the calibrations in the Laboratory or at Customer premises as necessary
  • Process items through the Laboratory using the preferred software and ensuring high accuracy at all times
  • Liaise with customers to understand and satisfy their requirements in a professional manner
  • This is a great opportunity for someone that has gained a minimum of Grade C (4) at GCSE level in English, Mathematics and Science. It would be advantageous if you have any education/training in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or Metrology.

    Ultimately, we are looking for someone that is eager to learn and start up a career in Calibration. We want someone that is self-motivated, and highly organised. The apprenticeship course they choose will take 2 to 4 years. Being a team player is key due to us being a small team. But regularly working with the other divisions in the business, it goes without saying that great communication skills are needed to interact with colleagues and customers.

    You will be required to work 40 hours per week across Monday to Friday.
