Job descriptionTo provide efficient and effective administrative support to the People Services team, ensuring staff are provided with key information on HR processes and procedures. Assist in the processing of employee data by utilising the Human Resources Information System and ensuring the integrity of data. To support the People Services Manager with monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators including performance development review compliance, sickness and learning and development. Assist with People Services initiatives and projects including the organisation of the RCPCH Annual Staff Awards event.
There will be the opportunity to engage in personal and professional development including courses from the learning and development programme.ResponsibilitiesDuties to include but will not be limited to:
1.Payroll
Under the supervision of the People Services Manager undertake duties supporting the use of HRIS including inputting changes onto system; sending out relevant contractual information; chasing queries with managers; liaising with payroll to resolve queries; processing honorarium and other payments.

2.Terms and Conditions
•Undertake administrative duties supporting various HR processes including maternity and paternity leave and other forms of special leave; job evaluation; probation procedure; other terms and conditions of employment.
•Ensure all managers complete Return to Work interviews for any period of absence

3.Performance Development review
•Support staff with the use of the online appraisal system. Ensure all staff have appraisals set up and respond to troubleshooting queries.

4.Data reporting
•Assist the People Services Manager to report on key performance indicators such as absence, turnover, learning and development, performance development review compliance and recruitment ensuring that all data relating to individual’s personnel files are kept up to date.
•Scan and file documentation including shortlisting packs, return to work forms, new starter information and individual’s terms and condition letters and contracts.

5.Project Assistance
•Assist with HR initiatives and projects including the organisation of the Staff Awards annual event.

6.Continuing professional development
•Ensure skills and knowledge are kept up to date by the completion of a development plan.

7.Customer facing
•Your response to customers is courteous and professional at all times.
•On a daily basis, you will be confident to respond to customer requests, ensuring they are carried out promptly through the correct procedure.
•Should queries and complaints arise, you are confident to handle them appropriately and refer the matter on in a satisfactory manner.Essential skillsEssential
