Overview
The advanced and creative hair professional was approved for delivery on 03/02/2020. This Advanced apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 3, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 12 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
The Advanced and creative hair professional apprenticeship has been development by hairdressing professionals and provides apprentices with the skills and knowledge to be able to operate in a specialist salon or through self-employment.
Learners will be focused on providing a quality service and always work to a high standard. They will have a passion for their work, and always maintain the utmost professionalism when dealing with a wide range of customers and clients. They will learn to identify the latest fashion trends and produce creative and innovative styles, and always take pride in their work. Apprentices will also learn to be flexible and plan their workload effectively and efficiently, whether working in a bespoke shop, the television and film industry, or manufacturers to luxury high-end hair salons.
The apprenticeship will equip learners with the tools to succeed as they build upon their understanding of industry standards and learn to expand the various aspects of the role. These areas include: creative restyles, creative styling and dressing of the hair, colour correction services and smoothing and strengthening systems.
