Overview

The advanced credit controller and debt collection specialist was approved for delivery on 31/10/2016. This Advanced apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 3, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

The Advanced Credit Controller and Debt Collection Specialist apprenticeship is aimed at those working within an organisation that offers credit to a variety of clients, managing its overdue and late payments and helping to maintain cash flow.

Apprentices will need to be self-motivated and confident, to enable the building and maintaining of key relationships with clients, and be able to handle the pressure of a fast-paced and continuously changing industry. They will also need to be able to have complex and often sensitive interactions with customers who need support in resolving their financial difficulties and recover debts whilst adhering to sector legislation.

There are 3 pathways as part of the apprenticeship, these include:

  • Credit Risk – Making decisions on the credit limits, organising credit arrangements and providing general credit advise
  • Advanced Collections – Coordinating client and customer relationships and identifying and resolving any issues with credit arrangements using assessment frameworks such as the TEXAS Model.
  • Enforcement and Recovery – The recovery of debt using a general understanding of enforcement solutions
