Advertising and Media Executive

Creating advertising campaigns and other media for a variety of clients

Overview

The advertising and media executive was approved for delivery on 08/11/2018. This Advanced apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 3, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the opportunity to experience the day-to-day aspects of working in the advertising and media industry and allows you to play a role in the process of creating and implementing an advertising campaign.

You will need to have strong organisational skills as you support the media manager with managing budgets and produce expenses reports, and show attention to detail when producing creative and innovative material for TV, film, radio and social media outlets.

In addition to the core knowledge, skills, and behaviours of the apprenticeship, you will also specialise in one of two areas of advertising, either with the creative side of the process or the distributing process.

As a creative specialist, you will be responsible for working alongside creative producers and take on roles including researching various competitors, monitoring the project’s progress and keeping yourself and the team up to date with latest developments within the industry.

If you choose to specialise in distribution, you will interact with a broad range of clients and build key relationships within the industry as you learn to understand their needs and use them to your marketing objectives.
