Overview

This Advanced assistant accountant apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 3, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 07/09/2016 and typically takes 18 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.

What the course covers

The Assistant Accountant apprenticeship will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills required to progress towards becoming a qualified accountant, as you gain valuable experience working in a real financial setting.

You will learn to understand the transactional process and your company’s business strategy as you become more aware of how your role applies to your organisation and its financial practices. You will also develop your knowledge of essential accounting methods such as double-entry bookkeeping and basic tax principles, whilst using a range of software created to help autonomise some of the more regular processes your company performs.

As an apprentice, you will report on financial performance data, ensuring it is delivered in an accurate and timely manner to other colleagues and stakeholders. You will use this data to identify problems, before using appropriate measures to resolve them.

The personal skills you will be required to demonstrate as part of the Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard include excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and knowledge of a range of complex mathematical formulae.
