Overview

This Higher associate project manager apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 4, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 19/08/2016 and typically takes 24 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.

What the course covers

The associate project manager apprenticeship standard offers you the chance to oversee all aspects of a variety of projects across multiple industries, as you apply your skills in planning, organisation, leadership, management and communication to ensure a successful outcome.

Depending on the context and industry sector, your job role may include: interacting with stakeholders and managing their expectations, carefully controlling the project budget and monitoring ongoing costs, assessing individual and group performance through various monitoring techniques, and developing a risk management plan to action any issues that may arise.

You will learn how to link an organisations vision and values of a project to its objectives, as you develop your leadership style to motivate and inspire your team to achieve their goals through consistently high-performance levels and stringent quality control methods. You will produce a detailed business case that outlines your goals and targets whilst ensuring you stay within your contractual agreements.

Starting this apprenticeship will enable you to become a student member of the Association for Project Management (APM), and can apply for associate membership upon successful completion. Full membership can be achieved through continued experience and professional development.
