Overview
The commercial procurement and supply (formerly public sector commercial professional) was approved for delivery on 17/12/2017. This Higher apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 4, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 24 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
Your work as a Procurement and Supply Professional will be based around the buying of an enormous variety goods and services for an organisation, from simple stationery supplies to locating and implementing an entirely new IT networking system or closing the deal on a construction project. It is designed to meet the needs of procurement professionals wanting to enhance their management skillset and improve their knowledge of the commercial supply landscape.
You will learn the principles of commercial contracting, and how to negotiate its conditions and obligations to affect the supplier’s performance, and develop a high level of understanding of the sustainability opportunities and risks associated with sourcing decisions. You will use various types of documentation and terminology to build your proposals, and support it with internal and external data based on customer needs.
The apprenticeship will help you develop strong relationships with clients and suppliers, take responsibility for your activity and decisions, and how to predict and plan the requirements of stakeholders in line with an organisation’s commercial strategy and values.
