What the course covers

Many organisations employ a Compliant and Risk Officer to provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of compliant and risk requirements set out in legislation, such as financial crime, fraud or other operational risks.

To do this, you will develop a broad understanding of the Financial Services legal and regulatory frameworks, and the consequences for businesses who choose not to follow them. You will learn to understand the specific compliance requirements for your role and use your knowledge to analyse operational issues and investigate them thoroughly to be able to provide suitable solutions to any problems that arise.

You will learn to produce detailed and concise reports using information gained from interacting with a range of customers and colleagues, using your interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms and collect data that you will use to investigate any issues fully.

As an apprentice in this role, you will need to uphold a high standard of honesty and integrity at all times, as you adhere to confidentiality agreements and practices. You will need to be resilient and display the enthusiasm to encourage organisations to comply with industry regulations.
