Providing support to licensed conveyancers on legal matters relating to the transfer of ownership of land or property

Overview

Approved for delivery on the 03/09/2015, the conveyancing technician, Higher apprenticeship standard provides a level 4, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 12 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

As a Conveyancing Technician, you will provide assistance to senior professionals with any activities that involve the conveyancing of property or land, and the associated legal matter related to it.

You will develop the skills and knowledge to be able to manage a small, standard, non-complex caseload, as you learn how to use appropriate legal methods to research, request, complete and submit legal documentation, communicate with clients and handle third party enquiries. You will understand your legal and regulatory liabilities and obligations appropriate to your authority, and develop knowledge of the intent behind Regulatory Arrangements and industry codes of conduct.

You will work under the supervision of an ‘Authorised Person’, such as a Licensed Conveyancer or Solicitor, who is a qualified individual authorised by an Approved Regulator, as you use your initiative and critical thinking to manage standard transactions and complete activities within an agreed timescale.

As part of the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete a range of recognised CLC academic qualifications which will be subject to amendment at the Council’s discretion.
