Overview

The credit controller and collector was approved for delivery on 10/03/2016. This Intermediate apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 2, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 12 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

As an apprentice Credit Controller and Collector, you will oversee customer credit accounts in line with organisational policies and practices and collect outstanding monies to ensure financial targets are met.

You could work in a range of roles within the UK and international commerce sector and will be crucial to many financial operations within an organisation, such as setting policies, facilitating sales, and managing financial risk and customer relationships. You will process credit applications, agree credit terms or payment arrangements and proactively communicate with a range of clients and customers to collect any outstanding debt.

The apprenticeship will provide you with an understanding of the industries legal, regulatory, risk and compliance frameworks such as data protection and anti-money laundering procedures, and teach you how to use a variety of IT systems and tools to take ownership of customer accounts and find resolutions to financial issues.

Once you complete this apprenticeship, you will become an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management. This will put you on the pathway towards full qualification as a credit manager and full professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management.
