Overview
This Advanced data technician apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 3, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 10/07/2020 and typically takes 24 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.
What the course covers
The general purpose of this apprenticeship standard is to gain the practical skills and specialist knowledge to source, format and present data securely. This may include analysing both structured and unstructured data to support business performance, combine data from multiple sources into an organised singular dataset and apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data.
You will have the opportunity to develop a broad skillset. This includes learning organisational skills such as how to effectively manage your time, ensure all deadlines are met and take responsibility for your work. You will also develop communicative abilities, including how to interact and engage with other professionals in your field successfully.
Data technicians find employment across all sectors where data is generated or processed. This includes finance, retail, healthcare, education, media, hospitality, as well as the government and local authorities. Data technicians are typically office-based, but remote and work-from-home opportunities are available. Daily duties vary but include, working independently to manage your responsibilities or working as part of a wider team of professionals, as well as the opportunity to mentor others.
