Overview

This Higher digital community manager apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 4, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 14/08/2019 and typically takes 24 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.

What the course covers

Digital community managers facilitate and instigate direct communication online between the customer and the organisation. Within organisations customers are known as ‘the community’, and the size of the community can range from hundreds to many thousands of customers.

You will act as the ‘public face’ online for an organisation and will implement their communication strategy to support the business objectives and goals. This is achieved through the management of online media channels, the delivery of activities including release information and updates, and customer-service-based tasks such as responding to questions from the community.

A Digital Community Manager will work with multiple online communities and tailor information to the unique tone and voice of each community. Daily tasks include analysing and interpreting data from the community, reporting customer’s behaviour data to the organisation, and feeding this evidence into future communication strategies and product direction.

Digital community managers are employed in all industries that interact and communicate with their customers of end-users online. This includes the videogame industry and software providers and is an essential role in both small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to large organisations.
