Overview

Approved for delivery on the 30/09/2019, the express delivery manager (degree), Higher apprenticeship standard provides a level 6, non-integrated degree upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 36 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship standard sets out the knowledge, skills and competencies needed by senior managers in the technology-led, fast-paced industry of express delivery operations. These skills differ to those in traditional warehouse and delivery management roles; instead this apprenticeship will be focus on skills in data analysis, performance-indicator based management, real-time business planning, time-critical decision making and innovation in route planning.

You will develop essential leadership skills, including an ability to line manage employees, empower team members and take an evidence-based approach to management as a way of driving effective business performance. You will comply with strict health and safety regulations, and procedures relating to the movement and handling of goods, use of lifting equipment and transportation vehicles.

Completion of this apprenticeship will increase your employment prospects in the express delivery sector, opening up progression options to the level of senior management and directorial positions.
