Overview
Approved for delivery on the 25/08/2016, the food and drink advanced process operator, Advanced apprenticeship standard provides a level 3, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 30 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
Food and drink advanced process operators work in the manufacturing sector of the food and drink industry, typically supervising work on production lines in manufacturing plants. This includes drinks, cakes, biscuits, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook food, sandwiches, wraps, fresh fruit and salads.
This apprenticeship will allow you to develop knowledge and skills in preventative maintenance activities and Continuous Improvement techniques, which are essential to maintaining and improving productivity in food and drink manufacturing sites.
You will develop an in-depth knowledge of food and drink products, health and safety systems, quality systems and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP). You will learn how to collect and interpret data to identify trends and carry out basic fault finding; This will help to avoid future faults and improve quality and productivity.
You will work on leadership and management skills with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience leading others. As well as working as a production line supervisor, you will spend some time offline while working on activities such as new product development.
