Overview
The furniture manufacturer was approved for delivery on 07/09/2016. This Intermediate apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 2, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 24 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
Furniture manufacturer is responsible for the design, creation, finishing and repair of furniture pieces, such as bed frames, chairs, sofas, tables and more. Furniture manufacturers have excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic and can demonstrate an ability to work individually and as part of a team.
A Furniture manufacturer is a highly skilled profession, so all apprentices will have the opportunity to develop technical skills in producing furniture pieces using appropriate tools, machinery and equipment. You will also learn about the types of materials used for different furniture pieces, and understand how to meet the quality standards and comply with strict health, safety and environmental regulations.
This apprenticeship standard allows for apprentices to develop a wide range of skills appropriate to different occupations in the industry. The apprenticeship covers many occupational areas including bed manufacturer, modern upholsterer, furniture finisher, fitted furniture installer, furniture restorer and wood machinist. The occupational route you will take will be one that is best suited to the business where you are working.
