Overview

The hospitality manager was approved for delivery on 10/01/2018. This Higher apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 4, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

The primary role of a Hospitality manager is to lead of team of people, ensuring customers receive high-quality service and experience. You will have a high level of responsibility and are accountable for fulfilling the business vision and objectives which requires excellent business, people and customer relation skills.

Hospitality managers work across a wide variety of organisations, including bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, and hotels. It is common for a hospitality manager to specialise in a specific area, but the core skills, knowledge and behaviours are aligned across the sectors. This apprenticeship standard will provide apprentices with specialist industry-specific skills, primarily focused around management and leadership qualities.

The management function you train in will be specific to the industry where you are employed. Examples of specialist management functions include food and beverage manager, housekeeping manager, front office manager, and kitchen manager (head chef). All hospitality manager must prioritise customer satisfaction, proactively collect feedback and encourage your team to be positive, engaging and respectful to all clients.
