Overview
Approved for delivery on the 03/02/2020, the information manager, Higher apprenticeship standard provides a level 4, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 24 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
Information managers support the management and delivery of digital and non-digital information with an item of value owned by a company. On this apprenticeship, information managers will learn how to ensure that data meets the requirements set by the company and that this information is managed and transferred to its next location as efficiently and safely possible.
Assets such as large-scale facilities, engineering projects or infrastructure developments need efficient systems to allow for the collaboration and development of critical information. It is the job of the information manager to ensure that this process happens continually throughout a project’s lifecycle. You will report to the project manager or the operations manager to update them on the quality and value of the information at each stage.
The apprenticeship will cover the storing of digital and hard copy information for its safety and protection, making sure it is distributed appropriately throughout the company. You will produce systems of information management and create regular reports on the progress of these systems. There will also be opportunities to work collaboratively with other departments such as IT to ensure that digital data systems are simplified and fir for purpose.
