Overview
The is business analyst was approved for delivery on 31/03/2017. This Higher apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 4, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
This apprenticeship focuses on the early and regular investigation into a business to ensure implementation of the correct information system. Apprentices will analyse the organisation and assess before any projects are initiated, to avoid implementing a system which doesn’t meet the needs of a business. An information system is an integrated set of components for collecting and processing information; a company will use one to manage their operations, interact with customers, communicate with suppliers and compete in the market. A pre-project analysis is a crucial skill developed throughout the apprenticeship to ensure that IS business analysts can confidently complete multiple tasks. Such as investigating business situations, identify areas for improvement, provide alternative methods for improvement, and define features that organisations may require.
In this role, you will document, facilitate and process the business’ plan for change related to their information system. You will learn how to present solutions to inefficient information systems and support testing to ensure the presupposed new solution meets the requirements and improve the overall business operation. The primary skills include applying structured techniques, documenting processes and situations, and recommending methods for change.
