Overview
This Advanced junior energy manager apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 3, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 01/12/2015 and typically takes 24 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.
What the course covers
With the climate crisis rapidly becoming the largest threat in a generation, coupled with the rising cost of energy, consumption of energy is now a top priority for businesses. This means there is a growing need for specialist energy managers. This apprenticeship helps to bring energy managing experts into organisations to keep their energy consumption low and produce long term financial savings. Energy managers are beneficial in a whole range of industries including leisure, health, hospitality, banking, construction, manufacturing and retail.
.A junior energy manager helps their organisation to meet specific sustainability goals within a broader context of corporate responsibility, for example in related to water or carbon management. You will need to have good communication skills, technical and numeracy abilities, and most importantly, be committed to expanding their knowledge of energy management to reach a more sustainable energy system.
The role includes taking measurements of energy consumption and assessing an organisations technical and operation management system for reducing energy consumption, making a judgment on its efficiency. You will learn to adhere to regulatory and legal guidelines and communicate your findings to the relevant organisational managers.
The role may also include development to creating energy strategy and policy at a senior management level.
