What the course covers

This apprenticeship provides training for the various technical challenges one meets when dealing with land-based equipment, ranging from simple maintenance jobs to complicated diagnostic and technical repair. You may be called upon to support more junior engineers and colleagues, whilst also interacting with customers and offering advice on machinery selection. Typically, the role of a Land-based service engineering technician includes the preparation and installation of complex technologically advanced equipment, diagnosis and repair of machinery, repairing specific components alongside junior colleagues and conducting machinery and equipment inspections.

As an apprentice technical, you will gain an understanding of the interface between machine, biological systems and the specific working environment such as climate, soil, animal and plants. You will learn to carry out a risk assessment, how to interpret complex writing and hydraulic circuit diagrams, and how to record information correctly and precisely following the industry you are working in.
