Overview
The leader in adult care was approved for delivery on 03/02/2020. This Higher apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 5, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
This role is not only a leadership position for other care workers but a managerial position in which you will implement a values-based culture which prioritises equality and respect. As well as delivering care, apprentices in this role may be responsible for business development, financial control, organisational resilience, continuity and managing risk within the service.
This apprenticeship equips you with the tools and experience to make a positive impact in someone’s life when they experience challenges. These challenges can be physical, practical, emotional, psychological or intellectual. The service you will run must be safe, caring and responsive to the needs of the various patients. As this is a leadership care apprenticeship, there is an emphasis on regularity practice; ensuring all staff members act following the code of ethics and laws regarding care work.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, all leaders in adult care will be able to demonstrate that they apply care, compassion, communication, competency, courage and commitment to all instances of care work they complete. These are the essential pillars of care work which all apprentices must understand and practice.
