The day to day duties which you will learn throughout the apprenticeship include preparing the centre for function, in accordance with safety, cleanliness, security and operational effectiveness; you will also be responsible for leading and managing staff members to ensure they are motivated and operating to a high standard.

Apprentices will assist Leisure Centre General Managers in implementing an organisational system to maintain operational standards and financial records, as well as following industry guidelines and regulations regarding safety.

The other side of the apprenticeship is learning and understanding the value of leisure centres in encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle for the general public. Leisure duty managers must promote well-being throughout the centre and staff teams; staff must be aware of how to support a diverse range of customers, including ethnic groups, disabled people, children and young adults.
