Overview
Approved for delivery on the 03/09/2015, the licensed conveyancer, Higher apprenticeship standard provides a level 6, non-degree qualification upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 18 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
This is a law apprenticeship related solely to the transfer of ownership of land or property, as well as any legal work/advice carried out in connection with the sale of a property. Licensed conveyancers manage a portfolio of clients in commercial, agricultural and residential contexts. You may work in any number of organisations providing legal advice on behalf of private individuals, charities, commercial organisations, housing associations, building companies, public authorities and mortgage lenders such as banks and building societies.
Apprentices will work autonomously and must learn to comply with Regulatory Arrangements and Lender Requirements. You will work closely with each client, whether buyer or seller, and understand that each case is different and requires a different legal strategy. The main aim of the apprenticeship is to provide an ethical and efficient legal service to those who need it. You will achieve this by upholding the firm’s policies, delivering professional and ethical outcomes, managing a complex caseload and providing professional supervision to others.
You will develop skills such as assessing legal and commercial risk, managing legal deals from other lawyers, and dealing with customer needs and expectations with professionalism and fairness.
