Overview
The mortgage advisor was approved for delivery on 19/11/2015. This Advanced apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 3, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 12 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.
What the course covers
Those who are about to take out a mortgage frequently need advice on which is the most appropriate mortgage route for them. They can access this advice either through a bank, building society or independent mortgage advisors linked to Estate Agents or brokers. Mortgage advice is an essential role, offering people your expert advice to ensure they make correct financial and logistical decisions. As an apprentice, you will learn to identify and satisfy customer mortgage requirements and associated protection needs, through a series of confidential and compliant meetings. These meetings can take place in a variety of settings, depending on where the mortgage advisor is employed; they may be at the bank, clients house, or over the telephone.
As well as offering mortgage advice, apprentices will be trained to offer advice related to other associated protection insurances such as health or employment insurance, income protection and contents insurance. Apprentices will develop a good understanding of the structure of the financial services industry, with specific in-depth knowledge of your own company. This knowledge is essential to feeling confident in the position.
Apprentices should have a good understanding of how to interact with customers successfully and how to clearly and kindly relay important information.
