What the course covers

This apprenticeship has two routes available, both related to the offering and administering of financial packages to customers buying vehicles. Motor finance specialists provide information pertaining to motor finance for an intermediary or customer; this information may be regarding package deals and prices, products and campaigns, legislation protecting the consumer, and customer obligations. The two routes are Motor Finance Specialist (Finance company), or Motor Finance Specialist (Retailer consultant).

Firstly, apprentices on the Finance company route will work for a finance company that provides services to the intermediary and its customers. Some of your daily responsibilities in this role will include receiving and reviewing applications for motor finance, carrying out in-house functions, assisting with queries and complaints, liaising with intermediaries regarding documentation and maintaining relationships with customers and intermediaries.

Alternatively, the second route, a Retail consultant, interacts directly with the end-user customers within an Automotive Retail Business. Apprentices on this path will ensure that the vehicle dealership complies with all appropriate legislation, and will process all relevant documentation related to motor finance within the business. Some of your key responsibilities will include working with customers to inform them of funding options and handling all customer related queries.
