Overview

This Degree project manager (degree) apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 6, integrated degree qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 22/06/2018 and typically takes 48 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.

What the course covers

There are two essential elements to being a Project Manager. The first is management, the second assessing the business environment. As every organisation undertakes projects and the skills you learn are transferrable, any apprentice who excels in this course will have the potential for a variety of occupations in almost any industry.

Primarily, the apprentice will learn how to oversee a large and diverse team to deliver a project according to a strict schedule. As such, the role requires an ability to understand and listen to their colleagues. In turn, these skills will allow the Project Manager to apply each individual’s abilities as is most appropriate, making the project as efficient as possible.

Throughout the apprenticeship, the candidate will learn a variety of expertise in regards to business planning, risk management and organisational strategy. A thorough understanding of this knowledge will ensure that every project is working efficiently and in line with the economic environment and the needs of stakeholders. Such skills are highly transferable. In turn, the apprentice will be able to utilise and expand on everything they learn in this course, opening them up to a wide variety of careers and personal potential.
