Recruitment Consultant

Helping to match candidates to advertised jobs.

Overview

The recruitment consultant was approved for delivery on 20/12/2017. This Advanced apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 3, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 12 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

A Recruitment Consultant will often work with a recruitment company whose service is to attract the best candidates to advertised positions. Essentially, they provide certainty of hire for the client, who is choosing to pay more to get the right candidate quickly, rather than paying less and waiting longer.

The apprentice will learn how to complete a range of tasks. First, they must learn how to identify and attract the best candidates. Following this, they must negotiate with the client the costs and requirements of the position to ensure satisfaction in the final hire. Finally, they must assess their candidates with their available job applications, convincing both parties that that match is the right one.

Success in this apprenticeship revolves around a few distinct behaviours. Primarily, the apprentice must be driven, ambitious and confident. This will allow them to convince and motivate all parties to move forward with the situation, increasing turnover. Furthermore, they must be self-motivated and innovative to work their way around obstacles and find new routes to meeting a client’s criteria.
