Overview
This Higher registered nurse degree (nmc 2018) apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 6, non-integrated degree qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 13/02/2019 and typically takes 48 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.
What the course covers
The Registered Nurse is integral in improving the health standards of individual patients, as well as whole communities. They achieve this by empowering and supporting people in improving their own health, including changing habits and diets. The apprentice may work in a variety of environments, and not necessarily always in a hospital or similar.
The nurse’s main task is to find and meet a variety of communities, both analysing and supporting them as they operate. They will identify the general or specific issues that or ongoing with an individual or groups health. In turn, they will work intensely with other healthcare professionals and public services to develop solutions.
There is a long list of skills and behaviours that will make an apprentice thrive in this degree. Principally, their ability to identify issues requires a critical eye and well-developed understanding of healthcare. However, this is unachievable if the apprentice is not approachable or cannot develop a sense of trust between the patient and themselves. As such, being honest, compassionate and accountable in the face of criticism is essential to the apprentice’s success.
