Overview

Approved for delivery on the 24/12/2018, the supply chain leadership professional (degree), Degree apprenticeship standard provides a level 6, integrated degree upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 48 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills and knowledge to produce, procure, move and deliver a product from a supplier to a customer or end-user. You will have to ensure an effective and efficient supply-chain, achieved by working with manufacturers, distributors, partners, sub-suppliers and suppliers across towns, cities and countries.

You will have the responsibility of executing a successful supply chain, requiring you to lead and facilitate trade on both a global and domestic scale. This will involve working collaboratively with companies, people and organisations, using resources and information to guide your decisions.

Although duties within this role may vary depending on the business size, location and industry, this apprenticeship position is crucial to driving company growth, increasing market share and generating revenue and profit.

Typical broad duties will include managing logistics, ensuring delivery of materials or products to factories or consumers, exploring transport and storage solutions, using IT infrastructures to bring new products and services to market, making decisions on where to invest in research and knowledge exchange, the optimisation of assets and managing relationships with suppliers, customers, third-party service providers and intermediaries.
